epj coverAll participants with an oral or poster presentation may submit their papers to the BiPoCo 2016 Special Issue of European Polymer Journal (EPJ) on the topic „Natural polymers and bio-inspired macromolecular materials”. EPJ, a journal of Elsevier, acts as a medium for the exchange of research in the area of macromolecular substances, both synthetic and natural, and publishes results bearing on the physics or chemistry of polymers. The impact factor of the journal increased from 2.517 (2010) to 3.005 (2014/2015) in the past five years. Special issues were published in EPJ [Eur. Polym. J. 49, 1146-1286 (2013) and Eur. Polym. J. 68, 481-696 (2015)] also after the previous two conferences. The papers of the first special issue have been cited more than 220 times (more than 20 citations per paper in the average) and the issue of the second BiPoCo conference published in 2015 received 30 citations in a few months. Several papers are still in the top 25 most downloaded articles of the journal (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/european-polymer-journal/most-downloaded-articles/):

The forthcoming special issue will include a few invited feature articles and several original research papers on topics presented as an oral or a poster presentation at the conference. All submitted papers will undergo the standard peer review process of the journal. Manuscripts can be submitted through the website of the journal until October 15, 2016. The deadline will be strictly enforced to facilitate the publication schedule. In the cover letter the authors must indicate that the paper was presented at BiPoCo 2016. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue, please select “SI:BiPoCo 2016” at the “Article Type” step of the submission process. Final decision will be made on all manuscripts by January 31, 2017.
